Abstract
Purpose: Music is one of the methods that can change emotional state in human and has been widely used to induce a positive emotion state conveniently. However, much still remains unknown about the changes of objective parameters induced by music in brain. This study investigated three dimensional changes of human electroencephalography after music listening.

Materials and Methods: Electroencephalography was taken for ten female normal subjects with 18 channels, 200 Hz signals during 40 seconds. The signals were classified as delta, theta, alpha1, alpha2, beta1, beta2 and beta3 and analysed by sLORETA software three dimensionally. They were compared between before and after listening to the classical music during 20 minutes.

Results: The right inferior temporal gyrus showed a significant reduction of theta oscillation after listening the music.
Conclusion: The electroencephalographic data showed a change in the brain area which has a relation to emotion and memory function. The effect of music for the human emotion was seen in the objective parameter. However, what kinds of parameters in music can induce this change should require further investigations.
